A little something different–Part 2

Continuing in the same vein, some more pictures of flowering plants we’ve come across in our walks.  There are some for which I do not have any identification or name—as the little guide pamphlet is limited.  Sorry about that.  As for fauna, we have been lucky to see several condors, one being attacked by a pair of small birds, presumably when the scavenger came too close to the nest.  Yesterday we watched a pair of condors flying and riding high and low currents throughout the valley.  It was nothing less than an avian dance.  Beautiful.  No pictures of these creatures, sadly, as they are very difficult to catch with their unpredictable soaring.  We’ve seen quite a few birds in a sanctuary in El Calafate, along Lago Argentino, including some distant flamingoes.  I confess that I had no idea they lived in this area of the world.  Our favorite—of which we do have a few pictures—has been the Magellanic woodpecker, which we’ve seen a handful of times, and which has been quite close. The male has stunning red head plumage.
Plants without labels are ones I have not been able to find any identification for.
